RULES
All USAT rules will be applied.
  1. You must show proper ID at check in and have a USAT membership card or purchase a one day license ($10.00). Please note this is not included in your registration fee. Annual members who can not show proof of registration must purchase the one day registration. Please contact USA Triathlon.org for membership information.
  2. USAT rules mandate NO DRAFTING on the course. You MUST keep 3 bike lengths between yourself and the cyclist in front of you at all times.
  3. Roads are NOT closed to traffic. Use extreme caution at all times. There will be volunteers directing athletes at most of the corners or signs posted or spray paint on the road.
  4. Stay to the right when biking at all times except to pass. Announce to the person you are passing that you will be doing so, so that person will remain to the right hand side of the road. If you can not make the pass within 30 seconds then you must drop back to 3 bike lengths.
  5. On the run. Stay to the right at all times except to pass. The path is not closed to public use so use extreme caution when running/making a pass.
  6. There is ABSOLUTELY NO LITTERING on the course. There will be trash recepticles at the aid stations where you can toss your cups/gu packs etc. If you are caught littering there will be a 4 minute penalty added to your overall time.
  7. If at any point you decide that you must drop out of the race, find a volunteer at either the aid station on the run course or at a turn on the bike course. We will have a car patrolling the bike course if you have an issue that you can not resolve yourself.
  8. Be prepared to fix any small problems on the bike course ie: flat tire, dropped chain. There will be assistance on the course but it may take a while for them to get to you and there's no guarantee as to how long that will take.
  9. All participants must have approved CPSC helmets. Helmet straps must be fastened before the bike leaves the trainsiton rack and remain fastened until bike is replaced. No exceptions! Bike/run numbers must be displayed throughout the entire race. Bar end plugs are mandatory.
  10. You MUST WALK YOUR BIKE THROUGH TRANSITION to the designated "bike mount" area past the exit of transition. This is to keep everyone safe in the transition area.
  11. When you are done with the bike portion of the race you must dismount your bike at the designated area and WALK YOUR BIKE BACK TO THE RACK IN TRANSITION. From there you will follow signs to the run exit to complete the run portion of the race.
  12. There are NO iPods, headphones of any kind allowed during the bike portion of the race. If you are found wearing headphones on the bike you will be immedietly disqualified.
  13. All athletes must participate in their age group division relative to their age on December 31.
